CELEBRATION OF IRETA’S LIFE service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Pulliam Funeral Home, Oblong, IL with Ruby McDowell officiating. Burial will follow in the Berlin Cemetery, rural Oblong, IL.

Ireta Jordan, 84, Oblong, IL went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, IL.
Ireta was born in Crawford County, IL on September 7, 1931, the daughter of Ausby H. and Henderson and Eva (Plummer) Henderson. On June 1, 1956 she married Roy Dean Jordan and he preceded her in death on April 15, 2013.
Ireta was a registered nurse formerly working at Englewood Hospital, Chicago, IL; Richland Memorial Hospital, Olney, IL; Weber Medical Clinic, Olney, IL; Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, IL; and Ridgeview Care Center, Oblong, IL. Ireta attended Robinson schools. She was a former member of Berlin Congregational Christian Church, rural Oblong, IL and was recently attending Oblong Cornerstone Church, Oblong, IL. She was a member of the Crawford Memorial Hospital Auxiliary; a 4-H leader; and Sunbeams Home Extension Group. Ireta enjoyed listening to piano music, playing Bingo, reading and spending time with her family.
Ireta is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Roger Dean and Pam Jordan, Oblong, IL and her daughter and son-in-law Konita “Lynn” and Danny Shedelbower, West Union, IL; three grandchildren: Eric (Kristen) Jordan, South Elgin, IL; Ryan (Jessica) Jordan, West Union, IL; and Laci (Cody) Pethtel, Oblong, IL; five great-grandchildren: Reese Jordan, Colbi Pethtel, Kaylen Jordan, Hannah Jordan, and Emma Jordan; a brother and sister-in-law Stephen Alan and Carolyn Henderson, Richmond, KY; and a brother-in-law Norman Beauchamp, San Angelo, TX.
Preceding Ireta in death were her parents, her husband, a son Russell Daniel Jordan, a brother and sister-in-law Glenn Max and Beverly Henderson, and a sister Martha Beauchamp.
